The Cinematics
On Facebook, I saw Nils added “The Cinematics” to his list of favorite artists. I’ve heard two songs off of their album “A Strange Education,” and I really like what I’ve heard so far. I’ll have to give the rest of it a listen soon.

Ahh, the Cinematics are great! Their best songs in my opinion are Human and the hidden track Home. The former track speaks on how someone shouldn’t expect too much from him/us: “we’re only human.” The latter is an acoustic track that drips with melancholy and longing about finding “home” again the feelings that surface in its wake. Overall, they’re a great band, and one of a LOT to have recently emerged from Glasgow. Critics have likened them to Franz Ferdinand in certain ways, another (much more famous) Glaswegian band.
