Is the title "One Tree Still" in mockery of the awful TV show "One Tree Hill"?

Alexander Micek

Unfunny as it is, it's the first thing that popped into my head. So: here we are, stuck with that title. What is that show about, anyhow?

Markoe

I believe it is an expansion on Shel Silverstein's "The Giving Tree".

Alexander Micek

That would make 'sense'; though in the end, I suppose it would be "No Tree Hill."

P.S. Why is sense in quotes?

Markoe

Way to blow the ending for everyone… jeez.

Alexander Micek

"Sorry, sorry. See what I mean, I just get carried away. I really must — sorry, sorry! Sorry, everyone."

Dan McKeown

That tree was weak sauce, I would have told the kid to get bent

by the way, what does that expression mean?

Alexander Micek

Dan: what are you referencing? It is over my head. As they say, "my ignorance of pop culture is epic."

Gosh, I can't even remember where that quote is from.

Dan McKeown

Alex: see a Play in Two Acts for the reference, that is all

Alexander Micek

Fight Club? (Also, I moved these comments to the correct thread.)

Dan McKeown

wait a second, now im really confused, the reference we were talking about earlier was in the A Play in Two Acts post, the comment about being bent is not a reference, it is me actually wondering what that means

Alexander Micek

Haha … ok WHAT?!@ Ok. Dan. I understand that the reference stuff was misguided so we will drop that … but what does what expression mean? What which kid would you have told to get bent? I am lost.

Markoe

When in Rome.
