Hair Washing

What a bizarre thought that passed through my head but … does everyone wash their hair second in the shower? What I mean is, I always wash myself first, and then wash my hair. It has always made sense to do things that way, but it’s one of those things in life that just makes you wonder, do I have any compelling reason (heck, any reason at all) to do it this way? Do other people think it sacrilege to wash hair first? Honestly, though, I hope there aren’t too many things in my life that I do simply because I have always done them that way, it would be an “unexamined life,” to quote Socrates. I do things like drive on the right side of the road not on the left, sleep at night not during the day, and wear socks with shoes all for very good reasons … I guess I will try to make sure I have reasons for most everything.

Also, posts like this give the blogs a bad name. E.g. (this kid actually wrote about washing hair!)

I wash my hair first. Wash first, then condition, and while conditioning I do everything else I need to do: body washing, hair removal, face washing, etc. Perhaps it is just a girl thing, since we need to condition our hair… or perhaps it is just a me thing… I do not know.

I wash my hair first too, although if I'm using a conditioning shampoo I will sometimes leave it in while washing other stuff. My hair isn't long enough to need conditioning at the moment though so mostly I just wash it out right away. Also I sleep during the day.

no hair… I swear that solves this problem all together… Although I still have enough that I have to wash my hair… But how do you judge first or last…. I mean, with me it's sort of in the middle, depending on my mood.

It just hits me the images we are generating…. Why are we doing this?

I wash my hair first, then the rest. That way all the icky that was in my hair can rain down over by body before I wash it.

BTW, I'm using Firefox 1.06 on WinXP and when the input fields aren't highlighted there's a black space on the left side where the little gradient should be. When the fields are highlighted with the red border things are fine. Thought you should know.

The washing-hair-first method seems to make sense. Though, I do not allow the water from my head to run down myself, so I guess I don't have the problem of dirtying my body by washing my hair after. Even given the small sample size, it seems that hair does seem to come first in most people's showering routines. Maybe I'll join that bandwagon.

I guess my sleep at night example wasn't that good, given that some people work at night and sleep during the day. =-)

Oh, and with regards to the 'black space' … I also use WindowsXP and Firefox 1.0.6, and I do not see a black space. Do you mean 'blank space'?

Ok, hair washing always comes first for me but not for the above mentioned reasons. My reason is quite simple, when I shower I work from the top down. After washing my hair i move to my face, then neck, etc (note how its abbreviated eTc, not eCt! write that down). I suppose the reason behind this is so that I dont forget to wash a part and find out later in the day by investigating a strange smell…
