Finding Your “This”

Conan O’Brien’s commencement address at Harvard makes a pretty quick read and an excellent examination of fantastic comedy writing. In addition to functioning on the levels of entertainment and humor, the speech goes a step further: it actually inspires. This line between laughter and inspiration is particularly difficult to walk in public speaking, but Conan did so quite successfully here. Possibly an ironic subject matter given my last post? Yes. Interesting? Without a doubt.

Earning My Keep

Why hello. Welcome to tumbledry! Glad you could make it today. Ladies and gentleman, I am employed. Yup. I know. This job is perfect. Web-design for St. Thomas at $9.50 an hour, and I can work at home. Flexible hours, competitive pay, and more experience. It’s rather odd that I want to be a dentist but still persist at web-design. As for the internships, well those will come next summer.
