Superbad: Supergood?
The premise behind this upcoming film isn’t too hard to summarize, but since I haven’t seen the preview more than once, I’ll leave it up to Cinematical.
Superbad’s poster does a good job of summing up what the film is about—two awkward kids who are “superbad,” or more accurately, co-dependent and full of separation anxiety when they get accepted to different colleges. With badass 70’s fonts and a trailer that pipes out Van Halen’s Panama, it’s pretty obvious who this flick is meant for.
It’s pretty obvious that, at 21, I’m not the “who” this movie was intended for. Regardless, the preview looked pretty funny. However, as is the case with most upcoming movies, I didn’t have high hopes. Then I found out the director is responsible for Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy , and The 40 Year Old Virgin. So, I thought “hey, maybe I should keep an eye on this one.”
We’ll see.

Michael Cera, the skinny one of the boys, was fantastically hilarious as an awkward teen on “Arrested Development.” Hopefully, he can commute that to the big screen, as well.
