Come In, Go Away Mat

Come In, Go Away Mat - Well now how about that. As you walk in, the mat looks like it says “Come In.” However, as you walk out, it reads “Go away.”

It’s called an ambigram.

I was reluctant to post on here because it will be post number 43 and will no longer tell me about the Hitchhikers Guide, but thats a cool doormat! I didn’t know that those things I like so much are called an ambigram!

Hitchhikers Guide? What does this mean? I want to be told about Hitchhikers Guide!

Dan, Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy was a book written by Douglass Adams. By many it is considered to be the ultimate guide to the galaxy, universe, and well… everything for that matter. And upon reading this wonderful marvel past down through the generations, you will learn the story of the computer built to answer the meaning of life. Millions of years later as the computer after the computer was done analyzing the problem, it finally came to an answer. And the answer was… 42. And if this freaks you out, don’t forget to read the big letters on the back of the guide… Don’t panic.

also, they then had to build a new computer powerful enough to figure out what the actual question was, but it got asploded by aliens :(

But the story isn’t about the computer, nor about the earthlings that survived the afore mentioned explosion. In fact, The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy is in fact about a book called The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.

In this book you will find all sorts of useful information including: Descriptions of Earth: (Mostly Harmless) How to fly: (By throwing yourself at the ground and missing) and Of course, you can look up useless stats like the odds of surviving getting thrown out of airlock (which just so happens to be 2^276709:1 against (which the movie got wrong) and also happens to be a London phone number…)

In any case, you should check out all 5 books in the inaccurately named trilogy when you get chance… And maybe the bits of the 6th… But I doubt you’ll get that fishy.

*Sung by dolphins in the movie*

So long and thanks for all the fish
So sad that it should come to this
We tried to warn you all but oh dear

You may not share our intellect
Which might explain your disrespect
For all the natural wonders that
grow around you

So long, so long and thanks
for all the fish

The world’s about to be destroyed
There’s no point getting all annoyed
Lie back and let the planet dissolve

Despite those nets of tuna fleets
We thought that most of you were sweet
Especially tiny tots and your
pregnant women

So long, so long, so long, so long, so long
So long, so long, so long, so long, so long

So long, so long and thanks
for all the fish
