Uniformed

This is shocking. The church I go to has a school, and the following are further (on top of the stringent dress code) limitations imposed on the students going to this school. This is a K-8 school - why would you disallow tatoos? Nothing like some red tape to make you thank God that you’re getting into college.

Shoes: Shoes should have non-scuff soles and must be closed toed. No sandals, clogs or platforms. Ankle height or lower. Heels must be no higher than 1-1/2 inches. Shoelaces must be same color as shoe. Shoe style should be conservative. Lights or neon colors are not permitted.

Shirts: Uniform shirts must be worn under sweatshirts or vests. Shirts must be tucked in at all times. Only the top button may be left unbuttoned. All cuffs must be buttoned.

Hair: Must be conservatively styled, well groomed and neat. No unconventional coloring or haircuts allowed. Hair accessories allowed are white, navy blue, red or uniform plaid.

Make-up: Tasteful, minimal make-up for girls in grades 6-8.

Jewelry: If worn, must be simple and conservative. No unconventional jewelry allowed. No dangling earrings for girls and no earrings for boys.

Tattoos: Of any sort are not allowed.

And its not even that I would not be able to walk around that school - I am well within the limitations imposed on these poor kids. But oh the red tape that flies when Christian dress code regulations fly around. The pratice, not the principle, of the thing makes me shudder.
