Quack
quack.com revolutionizes the accesibility of the web
What is quack.com? You may not have heard of it. It has most heavily been marketed in the Minneapolis, Minnesota area. Quack.com is not focused around a website, it is a service. An amazing service. Quack.com alows the user to get information off of the web via a telephone. You call their number and then say keywords like “sports” or “weather” to get the information relevant to that topic. The service allows you to “talk with the internet”. A couple of things that make this a great service are:
- It’s completely free; no hidden costs. So far.
- It is possible to use the service anywhere; from any phone.
- The voice recognition software is pretty good, and Quack doesn’t ask you to repeat what you have said very much.
- This service is up to the second. It is more accurate than the yellow pages or any newspaper.
- Shorcuts can be set so users don’t have to speak key categories everytime they “login” to Quack.
Yeah, I was pretty impressed, too. I am curious to see how succesful quack.com is. It could very easily fail as investors are pulling out of many companies that are involved with the internet. Quack.com might not have problems, but the companies that help it run could have investor issues. There are other services like Quack.com as well, but they are not as advanced (or as publicized) as Quack.com. Either way, one company will most likely eventually supply a service similar to this, and it could be Quack.com.
