Mykala MADE these masks. MADE them. Ok, Esmé’s was store-bought, but the other three, she made. This seems to be a theme with my posts — check out what Mykala made (as Ess would say, with her one-two mama meow paws).
Ess: Katerina Kitty Cat
Mykala: Mama Meow
Dada: Dada Owl
Marge: Supporting Cat (Unnamed)
Connecting Skype to an old phone - I was telling Mykala about this idea I had; hook an old style rotary phone up to Skype, or at least have it ring when Skype rings. Looks like problem solved, at this link.
Alternative to screen printing - With this awesome tutorial, you can use freezer paper cut out in a stencil shaped as you wish, iron the paper to a t-shirt or garment of choice, and then paint the open areas with fabric paint.
The final results are awesome.
The Big Round Cubatron - This fantastic contraption is a homebuilt 3-d light show. You’ll have to see a video or another video to get a feel for how cool it is.
Perfect iPod Accessory - This great gadget features a gramophone-type appearance, but it plays your iPod’s music and incorporates a touch screen album art display. Exquisite.
A $10 softbox - Mykala sent me this link and … this will produce some awesome images when completed. Even, white lighting is the key to great photos of normally boring things (and goodness knows the boring photos of things I take in the winter when it’s dark and cold and I’m busy with homework and don’t have time to take cool pictures).
Relive your past - Make a friendship bracelet today.
One button dorm party - Utilizing their MIDAS (Multifunction In-Dorm Automation System), these two MIT kids have built an awesome party system into their dorm room.
Try the video captioned “a reenactment of a typical Thursday night party.”
A 17 foot mechanical giraffe - It seats six. It’s like the pipe dream of a child erector set owner.

Backing up on your home network - This will be applicable to me when I have a house and am thinking about backing up my computers over the network. It will be incredibly out of date then. Crap.
