Disguised Ducts

Disguised Ducts

These are a few of the sculptural elements Gaudí came up with to disguise and shelter the rooftop utilities necessary in a building like these apartments. Stunning in their functionality, durability, and uniqueness.

I like the anthropomorphic-ness with which you captured these Alex. I also wish other architects/zoners/cities/countries could be bothered to employ these…

Thanks! The more you explore Gaudí’s work, the more you realize that the problems of today’s buildings — light, air, flexibility, organic yet practical shapes — these things have been addressed… everyone is just too cheap to use solutions that work over the long term.
