Kaiser Chiefs Quote
There are many things that I would be proud of
If I’d only invented them such as the wheel
The washing machine and the tumble dryer
On these inventions
Surely I could retire

There is a football team named the Kaiser Chiefs, and by football I mean soccer.

I wish I was a Kaiser. Like Wilhelm the First. Or the Second. Was there a Wilhelm the Second? Hmmmm…….. Wikipedia, here I come.

Look! My history degree is not a complete waste of time! I know the answer Nils. There was indeed a Kaiser Wilhelm II, he was the ruler of the “First Reich” during World War I as the last ruler of both Prussia and the German Empire. I doubt, however, that you would want to have been him Nils as he had a deformed left arm (that he was very self-conscious about even to the point that he would turn his left side away from a camera or posing for a portrait while always holding something in his left hand to give an illusion that it was not so painfully short) from a botched birth and was often accused of mental health problems that were very evident with his short temper. His tempermental behavior was detrimental in politics and is the most likely cause for many of his political blunders and alienating potential strong political allies as well as entire nations (such as England and Japan). During World War I he became a mere figure head as he delegated more authority onto his generals and in 1918 he abdicated the throne. He would live the rest of his life in exile after having much of his furnishings and favorite personal belongings brought up to his new palace in the Netherlands. He was never brought to trial for his role in World War I because the Queen of the Netherlands refused to extradite him and he lived a rather quaint existance until 1941 when he died at the age of 81.
I doubt many of you read up to this point, but if you did, I hope you learned something.

I didn’t read it.

Oof, that’s harsh—I know how you feel, though, Dan. Take solace in your recent tutoring experience!

Mykala, you just took a broken bottle to my heart. I think it was an IBC Rootbeer bottle.

Dan, I foresaw this conflict and pro-actively remedied the situation by purchasing you a delicious cheeseburger and fries Wednesday night.
We’re even.

I read Dan’s post thoroughly having never gone to Wikipedia to look up Wilhelm the Second. But he does sound like major jerk-off so I rescind my comment stating I wanted to be like him.
