In a good example of the type of real writing/reporting that I read Gizmodo for, the popular tech magazine recently wrote about Zetix, a fabric that can stop multiple car bombs without sustaining damage. Zetix uses a relatively new material science technique called “auxetics,” whereby materials get thicker instead of thinner when they are stretched. As a special bonus, the material uses a lower concentration of special polymer threads per unit of material, which reduces its cost.
Intentionally out of focus.
The flash is usually very harsh, so I filtered it through two sheets of printer paper, which seems to be about the perfect thickness for softening.
I always liked the typography and graphic design on this little label. I find myself sometimes more interested in the materials, artificial aging, graphis, and fonts of the labels of these clothes than I do the clothes themselves - these people really know how to brand.
I like this hat because it goes well with jeans, I do not really know anything about North Carolina. Oops.
I love Lands’ End’s new logo.
These macro shots are always cool.
