Nils writes:
This video describes visually and aurally what Indian culture is all about: Benny Lava. I have never seen a more educational video on Indians than this one right here.
I want to be Benny Lava,
Nils
Weightless dogs are very funny, especially when they appear from out of nowhere.
Annnnd - best short video this month: Flying a Sailplane Off a Cliff. Writes a commenter:
Makes you wonder how the Swiss ever found the time to work on clocks and chocolate…
This “instructive” video details How to Shower: Women vs. Men. You see, it’s the same word/verb, but it results in two very very different activities (depending on your gender).
Way Beyond Sinful is a great magic trick based on Houdini’s “Sinful” trick. How does he get the coins in there?
Coudal Partners brings you another entry in the series entitled “Regrets.” This film is a cautionary (and incredibly funny) personal tale about… well, you’ll have to watch.
Since you’re so interested in model railroads, maybe you should, you know, buy a model railroad.
This slow motion video of Roger Federer gives a person a good perspective on how expertly he uses his wrists and follow-through form. It’s a nice compliment to the occasionally fuzzy but always amazing Top 10 Best of Roger Federer.
Yes, a video entitled “Puppy vs Kitty” is exactly what you’d expect. If shown to everyone around the world, this could bring about world peace.
This is the most stunning thing I’ve seen online in over a year. A certain Mr. Fredo Viola created something he calls the Sad Song Video, which was made only using 15 second clips from his digital camera. Incredible production, haunting melodies — today, I’m happy for the internet.
Over 2 million views can’t be wrong - This is called “Tony vs. Paul” and it’s stop motion with people. This technique allows amazing $0 budget effects: these guys fought in what appears to be mid-air, simply by jumping from many different locations. So, the camera could freeze them in the same position every time they jumped. If you watch it, it’ll make sense.
The magic of video editing - This guy can neither play the piano nor the drums … but phenomenal editing puts this entire song together out of video fragments.
How to descend a mountain - This is the most amazing video you’ll see this year. These guys combine hang gliding and skiing to descend a mountain in an unbelievably short time. Ben Saunders, the guy who links this, has done solo skiing expeditions to the north pole, and he calls this video “the most hardcore thing I’ve seen for a long time.”
Timelapse photography - Using the Canon camera (one model newer than my own), this guy makes some incredible timelapse movies with software set to snap an image over a certain time interval. “Montreal Sunset Shards” is one of my favorites.
Ze Frank’s presentation at TED - TED stands for Technology Entertainment Design. Even if you don’t find the tech-geek humor funny, Ze Frank has some undeniably useful presentation practices that would be highly beneficial to the typical power point garbage. Via Waxy … you know waxy … the guy who coined the term “star wars kid.”
Beer cannon - The best slow motion video of a beer can running through a cantelope that I have ever seen.
OK Go’s famous music video for ‘Here It Goes Again’ - Stunning choreography.
The Juggling Bus Driver - Things like this restore my faith in humanity.
The Four Yorkshiremen - This classic sketch is the root of a common joke you’ve probably heard before. You’ll know what I mean when you read it.
Or, you can watch it.
Snickers commercial - Prancing nouget in the middle sings a song of satisfaction … toooo the world. Great ad.
Agitatin’ Dots - Whoever thought this up: thank you. Can’t beat deadpan corporate comedy.
