Sam Abell Quote

Above all, it’s hard learning to live with vivid mental images of scenes I cared for and failed to photograph. It is the edgy existence within me of these unmade images that is the only assurance that the best photographs are yet to be made.

The Coolhunt

The Coolhunt - Malcolm Gladwell’s fascinating article from 1997 about the “coolhunts” by employees of the clothing industry. Recounts the resurrection of the Converse One Star shoes.

The theremin is played without touching it

The theremin is played without touching it - An electronic instrument invented by a Russian scientist in the early 1900’s … it’s responsible for some creepy sound effects in movies (especially in the 50’s), but also playable as a ligitimate musical instrument.

See an amateur performance. Also, the BBC program South Today, had a good video about it.
